I have known Tony and his wife Melanie for the past 18 years, ever since our children played Biddy Basketball together. I do not get the opportunity to make very many of their auctions, but members of my Family often attend. Tony and Mel are always available when called upon to volunteer with community fund raisers and I have never heard a bad word spoken about either of them. I have attended auctions held at Southern Heirs for the last 12 years. As a private collector, I enjoy the variety of items they auction as well as the condition and prices of these items. My home has numerous pieces I've acquired through the years. Additionally, the entire staff is always friendly and accommodating.

The Achord's auction is always a great place to find "home and shop ready" furniture and other unique items. It is a fun atmosphere. Tony moves at a fast pace, so the auction is usually over by 9:30 or 10. Southern Heirs is a good place to consign things you want to sell. You will get a check the week after the auction, which is very unusual. Many auctions don't send out checks for at least a month, usually 6 weeks.

Many years ago we met Tony and Mel when they were on a buying trip. They told us about their auction and about how when you buy everything is shop ready. At the time we were buying local and having things refinished and selling it. We thought "who would have merchandise shop ready" and sell it at price we could afford to pay for resale.

After many years we decided we would go see what Southern Heirs was all about, doubting we could buy, but we found out different. For several years we have been going to the auction. We would attend every 2 weeks and get a trailer load, then business slowed down and we did also.

I Have Known Tony and Mel for about 10 years, ever since I became their Insurance Agent. I am not a big antique collector, but their Auction offers much more than just antiques. Tony Achord came highly recommended to liquidate the contents of the Seale Guesthouse in Eunice. A sale for the property was pending but a tremendous amount of antiques and collectibles, housed in the four buildings had to go and go fast. The auction far exceeded my expectations; the crowd came, and they came to buy! Tony and his crew are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, honest.

My wife and I attended the Labor Day Sale at Southern Heirs, and this was actually our first auction to attend of any kind. My in-laws invited us to go with them, so I was a little unsure of what to expect. Let me say, that we had a fantastic time at your auction. First, the pace of sale was perfect. I thought that this was going to be a long drawn out process and it was not. You kept it going quickly with your creative descriptions of each item. Secondly, the quality of the pieces were impressive. There was a lot of beautiful pieces that you had to offer. (and appeared to be in excellent condition). Thirdly, the prices seemed to be competitive and very reasonable. Fourth, the food in concession stand was the knock out of the day. The jambalaya and banana pudding was worth the three hour trip. Finally, when we all got in the truck to return home, we couldn't stop talking about all the fun happenings that took place at the auction. It was a entertaining and learning experience and we can't wait to come again. The lessons learned; come with more money and come hungry!
